Black Myth: Wukong Chapter 1 secret area guide - Ancient Guanyin Temple
To gain access to the Chapter 1 secret area in Black Myth: Wukong, you need to ring the three large bells in the region. We've organized our guide to outline their locations based on how we progressed through the level, as well as the closest fast travel point.
First bell
Forest of Wolves: Outside the Forest - Follow the sloping path up the hill until you see an abandoned clearing. As soon as you enter, you'll get challenged by a boss named Guangzhi. Eliminate this foe to receive your first transformation spell. The bell itself is at the back of this area.
Second bell
Bamboo Grove: Snake Trail - Follow the winding path until you reach a bamboo thicket with several snakehead enemies. Just past that is a hill where you'll encounter Guangmou, an elite that drops a spirit form. The second bell is just up the steps.
Third bell
Bamboo Grove: Marsh of White Mist - Make your way to the marsh and defeat the White-Clad Noble boss. Now, instead of going through the cave, look to the left to see a clearing with the third bell. Watch out because numerous wolf yaoguai will appear.
The Ancient Guanyin Temple and Elder Jinchi secret boss fight
After ringing the third bell, you'll get teleported to the Chapter 1 secret area in Black Myth: Wukong. It's Guanyin Temple, except it seems to be stuck at a point in time in the distant past.
In the first area, you can find the Guanyin Prayer Beads, a glove that increases your maximum health and mana for a long duration if you pick up lingering will (i.e. green flames) in the environment. Next, if you go up the steps, you'll encounter a boss named Elder Jinchi.
This monk has attack patterns similar to the Wandering Wight miniboss that you fought earlier in this level. The main difference here is that this yard is full of undead. Once below 50% HP, he'll float in mid-air and begin drawing the undead near him. Any zombies that he absorbs will partially restore his health.
In any case, if you can defeat this boss, you'll get teleported back to the normal realm. Likewise, you'll receive the Fireproof Mantle, a vessel equipment that grants burn immunity. You can learn about the other special items in our vessels guide.
That does it for our Black Myth: Wukong Chapter 1 secret area guide. You might want to learn about the others in Chapter 2: Kingdom of Sahali, Chapter 4: Purple Cloud Mountain, and Chapter 5: Bishui Cave.
